Written by on May 1, 2025

ATLANTA, GA – The vibrant pulse of the Caribbean is set to take centre stage in Atlanta this Memorial Day Weekend, as the 38th Annual Atlanta Caribbean Carnival returns from May 23rd to 26th, 2025, promising a dynamic showcase of island culture, music, and unity.

Organized by the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association (ACCBA), this year’s edition proudly honours Trinidad and Tobago—widely celebrated as the birthplace of modern Carnival. The festival will immerse attendees in the spirit of T&T through steelpan rhythms, calypso and Soca sounds, exquisite cuisine, and elaborate masquerade bands.

“The Atlanta Caribbean Carnival has always been a melting pot of cultures and traditions. This year, we’re thrilled to honour Trinidad and Tobago for its rich contributions to Caribbean identity, music, and Carnival history,” said ACCBA President Patricia Tonge Edigin.

Parade Day, Concerts, and Cultural Highlights

The main parade—set for Saturday, May 24th—will feature masqueraders in dazzling costumes and mobile sound trucks along a new route starting at Truist Plaza (303 Peachtree St, Atlanta).

Festivities then shift to Rodney Cook Sr. Park in Vine City, a new venue for the 2025 post-parade concert, spotlighting a pan-Caribbean artist lineup. Headliners include:

  • Nailah Blackman, Olatunji, GBM Nutron, Nessa Preppy, and Lady Lava (Trinidad)

  • Skinny Fabulous (St. Vincent), Motto (St. Lucia), Trilla-G (Dominica)

  • D’Angel and Kiprich (Jamaica)

  • Korra Obidi (Nigeria)

Other events on the Carnival calendar include the Children’s Carnival on May 10th, ACCBA J’ouvert on May 23rd, the ‘Bonjour Très Belle Breakfast Fête’, and the ever-popular ‘Submerged’ cooler fete on May 25th.

A Cultural Pillar in the Southeastern U.S.

Drawing thousands annually, the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival remains one of the largest cultural festivals in the southeastern United States, serving as a powerful expression of Caribbean heritage and diaspora pride. From its family-friendly programming to pulsating fetes and dazzling road experiences, the event encapsulates the resilience, colour, and creativity of Caribbean people.
