Dancehall artist celebrates international success with debut album and prepares for U.S. media run

Queens, New York – Jamaican dancehall artist Versi, formerly known as Versatile, is celebrating a career milestone after his debut album, P.V.O: Portland’s Very Own, reached #1 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums Chart—a breakthrough moment for the artist and his label, Cawvinz Entertainment.

Released on August 29, 2025, P.V.O made a strong first impression, debuting at #2 on the chart before climbing to the top spot, where it has now returned after remaining in the Top 10 for two consecutive weeks.

“This is just the start of the journey with this new project,” said an elated Versi. “I feel blessed and accomplished but still humble. I definitely appreciate the fact that people are receiving the album well and they’re not only streaming, but are buying also.”

A Versatile Showcase of Talent

P.V.O, short for Portland’s Very Own, not only pays homage to Versi’s roots in Portland Parish, Jamaica, but also reinforces why he adopted the name “Versi” in the first place. The 15-track project is a genre-blending showcase, bridging new-school dancehall and timeless reggae.

The album features major collaborations with dancehall stars Rygin King, Valiant, and Chronic Law, as well as revered reggae veterans Ginjah and Louie Culture. It also highlights production from some of Jamaica’s top hitmakers, including JayCrazie, CJ TheChemist, and Din Din, contributing to a sonically rich and diverse offering.

Building Momentum in the U.S.

Now based in the United States, Versi is laser-focused on promoting P.V.O to broader audiences. A listening party in New York is on the horizon, along with a U.S. media tour that includes appearances on stations like:

  • Get With The Fix Radio with MichelleG

  • One Love Radio (Connecticut)

  • JaIrie Radio

  • Sound Chat Radio

  • The Beat FM (Rochester, NY)

A Florida press run is also in the works, as Versi looks to cement his presence in the American reggae/dancehall space and secure features in major publications.
