Sean Paul and Collie Buddz Unite on “On My Way Back Home” 2025 Remix
Written by Cat Radio UK on October 7, 2025
Kingston, Jamaica — Two of reggae and dancehall’s biggest international forces — Sean Paul and Collie Buddz — have joined creative energies for a 2025 remix of the 420-inspired anthem “On My Way Back Home.” The refreshed version celebrates the cultural and spiritual significance of marijuana, affectionately referred to as “the healing bush from Mother Nature.”
Produced by Richard “Lionface” Thomas and JonFx for Ineffable Records, the remix elevates the original track with a vibrant new tempo, dynamic guitar layers, and signature Caribbean drum rolls. Sean Paul contributes a new verse that not only salutes Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt but also continues his message of respect and normalization around cannabis culture.
Reimagining a Classic
In a joint studio session, producers Lionface and JonFx shared how their collaboration came together organically.
“We were on the phone trading respect for each other’s production over the years,” Lionface recalled. “Jon said ‘On My Way Home’ is one of his favorite songs. It just so happened there was a plan to re-release the track, so the decision was made to work on the remix together.”
Global Producers with Caribbean Roots
Both producers are industry veterans with extensive global credits. Lionface, known for his work with Sean Paul, contributed to the GRAMMY-winning, multi-platinum album Dutty Rock — a defining project that helped shape 2000s dancehall. His recognition includes plaques for international record sales and production excellence.
JonFx, meanwhile, is a GRAMMY Award-winning producer celebrated for his work with XXXTentacion, Gyptian, Sizzla Kalonji, and other internationally acclaimed artists. His diverse production style fuses reggae, hip-hop, and pop elements that have earned him global acclaim.
A Celebration of Culture and Creativity
The “On My Way Back Home” 2025 remix not only connects icons from the reggae and dancehall worlds but also symbolizes the genre’s continuous evolution — where tradition meets innovation. With its elevated production and conscious messaging, the collaboration reinforces reggae’s enduring role as both cultural expression and social commentary.
The single is now available via Ineffable Records on all major streaming platforms.
