Toronto, ON – The RBC Black Diamond Ball is marking a decade of excellence by bringing together artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders for a series of impactful events. This year’s milestone celebration will kick off with a lineup of activities designed to support local businesses, foster networking opportunities, and showcase emerging talent in the Black community.

The festivities commence on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at RBC The Well, 8 Spadina Avenue, with The RBC Black Diamond Ball Workshops, offering invaluable insights into real estate, finance, and entrepreneurship. Industry professionals will share expertise on mortgage strategies and investment best practices, while 15 entrepreneurs will participate in The Pitch, a rapid-fire business presentation competition where each has two minutes to present their ideas.

Following the workshops, The Vocalist, an electrifying singing competition, will take center stage on Friday, January 31, 2025, at The Pearl, 184 Pearl Street. Contestants will have 90 seconds to impress a panel of distinguished judges, including Juno award-winning artist Sean Jones, Tracy McNamara of Red Brick Music Publishing, Kaye Parker of Departure TO, and dance music icon Simone Denny. Hosted by Hollywood Jade of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the competition will see 10 finalists vying for over $17,000 in cash prizes, including a grand prize of $10,000.

In addition to the competition, participants will have access to exclusive industry workshops led by Tracy McNamara and Sean Jones, providing invaluable guidance on breaking into the music industry and navigating the global music scene.

Celebrating a decade of the Black Diamond Ball is an incredible milestone. We’ve seen the Ball grow not only in size, but in its impact, and this year’s events reflect our continued commitment to supporting Black culture, businesses, and emerging talent,” said Shawn Cuffie, Founder of the Black Diamond Ball and VP of Operations for ArtXPeriential Projects.

The RBC Black Diamond Ball Workshop Experience will highlight the contributions of Black artists, small businesses, and members of the BIPOC/LGBTQIA2S+ communities. The initiative seeks to amplify young Black voices in arts and culture, promote collaboration, and provide artists and entrepreneurs with opportunities to overcome industry barriers.

“This is a significant year for the Black Diamond Ball and at RBC, we are so proud to support and be part of something that champions artistic and entrepreneurial excellence,” said Wayne Griffith, Vice President of Commercial Financial Services at RBC. “I’m also excited for year two of The Vocalist, which isn’t just a competition but a platform that creates opportunities for artists to shine and share their unique voices.”

The RBC Black Diamond Ball continues to be a pillar of celebration, empowerment, and innovation within the community, fostering connections and opportunities that extend beyond the event itself. With workshops, competitions, and networking opportunities, the 10th-anniversary celebration is set to be an unforgettable experience for all involved.
