PM Holness Urges Jamaicans to “Act Now” Against Child Abuse During Child Month 2025

KINGSTON, Jamaica – As Child Month 2025 begins, Prime Minister Andrew Holness has called on Jamaicans to take urgent action to protect the nation’s children from abuse and exploitation.

Under the theme “Act Now! Stand Against Child Abuse and Exploitation,” this year’s observance highlights the collective responsibility to defend children’s rights and ensure their safety and well-being.

“Every child deserves to grow up safe, loved, and free from abuse and exploitation,” Holness stated in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter). “Let’s protect their rights, speak out against injustice, and build a future where every child can thrive.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of public awareness, community vigilance, and institutional support to combat child abuse in all its forms. The Child Month 2025 theme serves as a call to action for families, educators, community leaders, and policymakers to unite in creating a safer environment for Jamaica’s children.
