State Minister in the Ministry of Education and Youth, Hon. Marsha Smith, expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering dedication of the awardees. She praised them for faithfully carrying the torch of education for over three and a half decades. “Today, we are honouring a new class of luminaries – educators who, for over 35 years, have faithfully carried the torch of education,” she said.

She also noted the profound impact that teachers have had on renowned Jamaicans like Usain Bolt, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Bob Marley, who have all credited their teachers for inspiring their successful careers.

“We celebrate your unwavering commitment. You are the embodiment of the JTA motto – ‘Service First’ – and you are the golden threads woven into the rich tapestry of Jamaican education,” Ms. Smith added.
