Kingston, Jamaica – Former Duke University standouts Toni Payne and Kayla McKenna have been selected to represent their respective national teams in upcoming international friendlies scheduled for early June.

Payne, a midfielder currently playing for Everton in the English Women’s Super League, has been named to Nigeria’s Super Falcons squad for two matches against Cameroon on May 31 and June 3. These games serve as preparation for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26.

McKenna, a forward with Grasshopper Club Zürich in Switzerland, has been called up to Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz for a friendly against the United States on June 3 at Energizer Park in Missouri. This match is part of Jamaica’s efforts to rebuild and assess new talent ahead of the next FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification cycle.

Both Toni Payne and Kayla McKenna had illustrious careers at Duke, with Payne recording 23 goals and 21 assists over 90 appearances, and McKenna tallying 38 goals in 82 matches. Their continued success at the international level underscores the strength of Duke’s women’s soccer program.
