Dr. Michelle Gill Gives Back to Students in Guyana with Major Donation Drive
Written by Cat Radio UK on May 18, 2025
GEORGETOWN, Guyana — Dr. Michelle Gill, a Guyana-born American philanthropist, social worker, and college professor, is returning to her hometown of Georgetown this summer with a mission close to her heart — giving back to children through her charity, Michelle’s Foundation.
On July 2, 2025, Dr. Gill will host a donation ceremony at her alma mater, St. Gabriel’s Primary School, which she has now officially adopted. Every student in the graduating class — all 132 of them — will receive a school bag to help prepare for their high school journey, while the top 10 performing students will each receive a brand-new tablet.
In addition, 360 Vinyl Printing will donate extra tablets to students most in need, and Secure Innovations and Concepts, a local Guyanese business, has stepped forward to sponsor surprise gifts for the school’s teachers. Two young girls who courageously stood up against bullying will also be honored with a special presentation.
“Giving back to the children of Guyana and seeing their reaction to just me being there is always heartwarming,” Dr. Gill shared. “Donating to a worthy cause is gratifying, and to see it up close is the best feeling ever. I hope by doing this, it motivates others to do the same for these children back home.”
A long-time resident of New Jersey, Michelle is the owner of Get With The Fix Radio, a syndicated station streamed across multiple states. For the past 14 years, she has hosted the Michelle’s Foundation Back to School Drive in Orange, New Jersey, while also extending charitable support to Jamaica on three separate occasions — most recently as a major sponsor of the A’Legends School Tour, where she donated 12 tablets to students across Kingston, St. Andrew, and St. Catherine.
The 14th annual staging of her New Jersey back-to-school initiative is set for August 30, 2025.
With her reach spanning the U.S., Jamaica, and now Guyana, Dr. Michelle Gill’s impact continues to grow — one backpack, one book, one child at a time.
