Ottawa — Canada and Qatar have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in areas of mutual concern, including education, nutrition, and conflict resolution. This was the focus of a high-level meeting held in Ottawa Wednesday between Canada’s Minister of International Development, Ahmed Hussen, and Qatar’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lolwah Alkhater.
In a post on social media, Hussen highlighted the importance of this ongoing partnership, noting that both countries are working together to promote peace and deliver aid to more communities affected by conflict. “Canada and Qatar are strengthening cooperation on our shared priorities, including education, nutrition, and conflict resolution,” Hussen shared on X (formerly Twitter), following the meeting.

He added that their discussions focused on “working together to promote peace and deliver aid to more communities in conflict-affected regions.” Alkhater, who has been instrumental in Qatar’s global diplomatic outreach, also underscored the significance of this partnership during the talks.
The collaboration between Canada and Qatar aims to address urgent global challenges, including improving access to education and nutrition in vulnerable regions while fostering long-term solutions for peace in conflict zones. This renewed focus further demonstrates the shared goals of the two nations in advancing global stability and humanitarian efforts.
