ANTIGUAN ARTIST JAYGO TALKS ABOUT HIS “DANCEHALL LOVE AFFAIR”

Kingston, Jamaica– Antiguan Dancehall Pop singjay Jamal Gordon, who records under the moniker Jaygo, is gearing up to release an eclectic body of work for his debut album inspired by his passionate love for dancehall and reggae music.

The 13 track project “Sun and Sound: A Dancehall Love Affair”, will showcase the Dancehall and Reggae; as well as the overall Jamaican cultural influence, on the Antiguan born artiste after his sojourn to Jamaica for studies at Norman Manley Law School some 4 years ago.

Each track is a chapter of his love for dancehall and his direct experience with the genre, peppered with lover’s rock, afrobeats and pop influences. Fans have already been enjoying previously released fusion tracks like ‘I Want You’ and ‘One Try’ from the album, as well as a stand-out single for Jaygo called ‘Investin’, which has been making waves since its release late last year.

“The Investin single for me is an empowering anthem for women, every girl that knows how to make her man happy deserves to be invested in. That’s more than money for me – it’s time, affection, attention, all that and the world I’ll give my girl,” Jaygo precluded.

Recently premiered from the album is his collaboration with popular female dancehall act Lisa Hyper, a single called ‘No Friend’ released a few weeks ago. Jaygo, known for his adaptability and diverse musical style, promises an array of thoughts on his album including party energy, love songs and even social commentary, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

 “One thing I’ve learned about myself as a musician is that I’m open to constructive criticism. The people matter, so if it’s not good enough, I’ll try again,” Jaygo added, reflecting on his journey.

The artiste is looking at a Fall release for the album “Sun and Sound: A Dancehall Love Affair”, and will be premiering the dynamic collage of sounds in Jamaica as well as Antigua.
