Anthony Grant’s “Crème de la Crème” breaks onto Afrobeats chart

Written by on July 22, 2024

Kingston, JamaicaJamaican reggae artist, Anthony Grant, has made huge strides in his budding career as he tops the US Afrobeats Chart with his latest single called “Crème De La Crème”. It is a feat very few have achieved, so for a newcomer, it is definitely a great accomplishment to be proud of.

Grant, born in Kingston but now based in the US, was a member of the Calabar High School Choir before migrating to Illinois in 2011. It wasn’t until 2014, however, that Grant began his professional music career as a producer first. He has worked with artists such as Blak Ryno, Xyclone and Devin Di Dakta on several rhythm compilations. Then, in 2019, he started recording his own songs and has been working nonstop on his music ever since.

“Crème De La Crème” was produced by Grant himself, as well Kris David, Sheen and Theodore Radcliffe, for his ASG Records label. It was released on Friday, June 28, 2024. While there is yet to be an official Afrobeats genre on iTunes, Grant’s track is an authentic Afrobeat composition infused with reggae elements and patois lyrics. When searched for on Google, it shows “Crème De La Crème” as the top Afrobeats track currently, above the likes of Libianca with her global hit “People”.

This recent success of “Crème De La Crème” is the first of many fruits of his labor. It is well put together and has the markings of greater success in the future for Anthony Grant.
