“We can all be sure of the passage of time, but we cannot guarantee the quality of life we will have unless we make plans that give some level of certainty,” Holness stated in his message, emphasizing the importance of securing a prosperous future.

As global leaders and the United Nations increasingly focus on the long-term sustainability of communities, the Prime Minister called on Jamaicans to be mindful of how their current actions could shape the future. “Planning for the future should be the norm for our people,” he urged, aligning his message with the broader international dialogue on sustainable development and global responsibility.

The ongoing discussions between Jamaica and the Netherlands aim to support the incorporation of future planning into policymaking at all levels. The Declaration of Future Generations calls on nations to prioritize the well-being of future citizens by making decisions today that will foster resilience, sustainability, and equity in the years to come.

With over 3,000 views on his social media post, Holness’ message has struck a chord with many Jamaicans who share his vision for a future that guarantees a high quality of life for generations yet to come.
