Alkaline’s New Rules Festival Returns to Jamaica in 2025

Written by on March 12, 2025

Trelawny, Jamaica – Dancehall sensation Alkaline, in collaboration with New Era Productions, has officially announced the return of the highly anticipated New Rules Festival to Jamaica on July 5, 2025. The event will take place at the Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium, promising an unforgettable experience for music lovers and fans of the genre.

Following the overwhelming success of previous stagings, including its landmark debut in Kingston in 2017 and a successful return in 2022, the New Rules Festival has cemented itself as a premier event in dancehall entertainment. With a history of high-energy performances and dynamic stage productions, this year’s edition aims to elevate the experience even further by featuring a mix of established and emerging talent.

Alkaline’s manager, Kereena Beckford, emphasized the significance of bringing the festival back to Jamaica, stating, “Jamaica is the birthplace of reggae and dancehall, and we are honored to bring New Rules Festival back home. Our fans in Jamaica have always been the heartbeat of our brand, and we can’t wait to deliver an exhilarating experience that resonates with them.”

Alkaline, known for his chart-topping hits and electrifying performances, continues to be a dominant force in the reggae-dancehall industry. With a packed schedule that includes performances in Boston, London, Toronto, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the artist has made it a priority to include Jamaica in his tour lineup, ensuring that local fans can partake in the festival experience.

The decision to host the 2025 festival in Trelawny marks a strategic shift from past events held in Kingston. Beckford explained that this move is designed to cater to a broader audience across the island. “Over the years, Kingston & St. Andrew municipal has been the home to many big festivals. However, entertainment lovers from the island’s western side have been somewhat excluded. Alkaline and New Era Productions’ decision to take the show to Trelawny Multipurpose Stadium this year is to cater to a wider fanbase.”

Alkaline himself expressed excitement about the venue selection, noting the personal significance of Trelawny as his mother’s hometown. “So, this summer, it is the place to hold a vibe with my family and fans. It’s more than just another New Rules experience, so Jamaica… The time is now,” he stated.

Rickardo Shuzzr, Alkaline’s publicist, further highlighted the festival’s broader impact. “The Western region has contributed much to the culture that keeps our nation viable. Our team will always find creative ways to aid the nation’s development, bring or ignite economic growth across the island, and, most importantly, cater to Alkaline’s fans.”

The New Rules Festival 2025 promises an exciting mix of performances, interactive experiences, and a vibrant cultural atmosphere. Fans can expect an immersive celebration of music, art, and Jamaican culture.
