🌍 St. Kitts and Nevis to Host Global Sustainable Islands Summit 2025

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts and Nevis – The twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is set to welcome global leaders, innovators, and island changemakers for the Global Sustainable Islands Summit (GSIS) 2025, taking place May 25–30, 2025.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew, who emphasized the country’s commitment to its Sustainable Island State Agenda, and the opportunity to showcase bold leadership on climate resilience and sustainable development.

“Proud to welcome the world to our shores for the Global Sustainable Islands Summit 2025 right here in St. Kitts and Nevis,” Dr. Drew stated. “Let’s show the world what small islands with big vision can achieve.”

The Global Sustainable Islands Summit 2025 will convene participants from across small island developing states (SIDS), including policymakers, climate advocates, business leaders, and youth voices. The summit will focus on advancing collective solutions in areas such as:

• Sustainable tourism

• Digital transformation

• Food and water security

Hosting GSIS 2025 positions St. Kitts and Nevis as a regional thought leader, pushing forward practical, scalable models for island sustainability.

The summit aligns with the Federation’s broader development strategy, branded under the theme #PoweringProgress, and follows recent advancements including the nation’s new E-Border system and public health digitization efforts.
