OTTAWA — Dr. Leslyn Lewis, the first Black woman to run for the leadership of a major federal party in Canada, has announced her reappointment as Shadow Minister for Infrastructure under Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative leadership team.
In a post shared Wednesday, Lewis said she was “honoured” to continue in the role and emphasized her commitment to ensuring that critical infrastructure projects “actually get built so our nation can grow and prosper.”

Her statement follows the unveiling of Poilievre’s updated shadow cabinet, which he says will focus on building a self-reliant Canada with safer streets, stronger borders, and increased housing affordability.
