St. Thomas has seen extensive upgrades in water, sewage, and broadband infrastructure, laying the groundwork for future digital and economic growth. The transformation also includes:
-
Construction of new fire stations
-
Upgraded health centres to expand access to care
-
Social housing projects aimed at improving living standards
Looking ahead, Holness announced plans for a multi-purpose entertainment and sports facility that will become a landmark development in the parish. Additional expansion initiatives will provide support to small and micro businesses, further boosting local entrepreneurship.
“Our vision stretches beyond the present. We are thinking 50 years ahead, ensuring that today’s infrastructure becomes the foundation for tomorrow’s prosperity,” Holness said.
The government’s continued focus on parish-specific development signals a broader national push to decentralize opportunity and ensure equitable growth across Jamaica.
