ATLANTA, Georgia — The city of Atlanta will pulse with Caribbean pride this Memorial Day weekend as the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival returns for its much-anticipated 2025 edition, promising a vibrant celebration of culture, music, and masquerade.
Set for Saturday, May 24, 2025, the Parade of the Bands will take over Peachtree Street and surrounding areas, transforming the city into a kaleidoscope of colour, Soca beats, and dazzling costumes.
Leading the parade this year is a powerhouse lineup of Celebrity Grand Marshals, adding star power and cultural significance to the spectacle. Representing the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Soca icon Neil ‘Iwer’ George will serve as a Grand Marshal, bringing his decades of hits, including “Come to Meh” and “Savannah.” Joining him is fellow Trinbagonian Winston ‘Gypsy’ Peters, a revered figure in Calypso and Extempo and the current Chairman of T&T’s National Carnival Commission (NCC).
They will be joined by Dr. Contessa Metcalfe, MD, entrepreneur, medical practitioner, and reality TV star from Bravo’s “Married to Medicine”, along with key figures from Georgia’s political sphere including State Senator Jason Esteves, State Representative Arlene Beckles, and Atlanta City Councilman Byron Amos.
In a new addition for 2025, masqueraders will culminate the parade by crossing the main stage at Rodney Cook Sr. Park, where a post-parade concert will keep the vibes high into the evening.
Beyond the parade, the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Bandleaders Association (ACCBA) will host a full weekend of Caribbean-themed events including J’ouvert, Breakfast & Cooler Parties, and family-friendly activities, celebrating the rich diversity of the islands.
With tens of thousands of attendees expected, Atlanta Caribbean Carnival 2025 is shaping up to be a historic, high-energy showcase of Caribbean unity, rhythm, and culture.
