RBC Black Diamond Ball Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Star-Studded Lineup

Toronto, ON – The highly anticipated RBC Black Diamond Ball is set to mark its 10th anniversary with a spectacular evening of celebration under the theme “Let’s Get Together.” Taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the prestigious Fairmont Royal York Hotel, the event will showcase Black excellence in arts, culture, community, and business. The Black Carpet will roll out at 6:00 PM, followed by the main program at 7:30 PM.
Headlining the milestone event is Grammy Award-winning artist Melanie Fiona, who will take the stage alongside a dynamic lineup of performers. The evening will be hosted by Juno Award-winning singer Sean Jones and media personality Azalea Hart, ensuring an engaging and memorable experience for all attendees.
Among the featured performers is Dario Dvon, winner of The Vocalist 2025 competition, who secured the grand prize of $10,000. Attendees will also be treated to a high-energy performance by the Recipee Band.
A key highlight of the RBC Black Diamond Ball is the recognition of outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the community. The 2025 honorees include:
- Legacy Award: Justice Dr. Irvin Andre, Ontario Court of Justice
- Media Icon Award: Tracy Moore, Television Host & Journalist
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Lee-Chin, Business Leader & Philanthropist
- Legacy Award: Karl Subban, Educator & Former Hockey Coach
- Soul and Unity Award: Melanie Fiona, Grammy Award-Winning Artist
Over the past decade, the RBC Black Diamond Ball has grown into one of Canada’s premier cultural events, celebrating the accomplishments of Black artists, businesses, and community leaders. The 10th anniversary event will continue to foster unity and collective strength, while also spotlighting emerging talent and the contributions of Black-owned businesses across Canada.
A Legacy of Celebrating Black Excellence
The Black Diamond Ball was founded in 2015 by Shawn Cuffie, VP of Operations for ArtXPeriential Projects, the organization that produces the annual event. Since its inception, the not-for-profit initiative has supported Black youth, provided a platform for community artists, and honored pillars of the Black community. The event also serves as a grand conclusion to Black History Month, recognizing achievements and contributions in various fields.
Each year, the Black Diamond Ball brings together a combined in-person and televised audience of over 75,000 attendees, featuring performances, award presentations, and a marketplace showcasing Black-owned businesses.
