William Ruto Mourns the Passing of Hon. Ezra Kihara, UDA Loyalist

President William Samoei Ruto has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hon. Ezra Kihara, a Nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Kiambu, who died on September 22, 2024. Kihara was a dedicated and loyal member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), whose contributions to the party were highly regarded.
In a tweet posted early Sunday morning, President Ruto described Kihara as a leader whose “skills in party politics were exemplary” and acknowledged his pivotal role in the 2022 UDA primaries, where he served as the Kiambu County returning officer. His competence and leadership qualities led to his nomination as an MCA, a position from which he made valuable contributions to his county and party.

Recently, Kihara was selected as part of the UDA National Elections Board’s technical team tasked with overseeing grassroots elections, further cementing his significance in the party’s internal leadership and election management.
“The loss of Hon. Ezra Kihara is a tremendous blow not only to Kiambu County but also to the UDA family. His commitment to serving the party and his county was unwavering,” President Ruto shared, adding that Kihara’s “contribution will be dearly missed.”
Kihara’s legacy as a skilled political operative and his leadership within the UDA will be remembered by many, both in his community and the party at large.
