Montego Bay, Jamaica — The Region 4 office of the Ministry of Education and Youth has taken immediate steps to ensure that students of Barracks Road Primary School can continue their education in a safe environment. In response to parts of the school building being deemed unsuitable to host students, alternative space has been secured at Faith Temple Assembly of God, with Mobay Metro providing transportation for the daily commute.
A total of 161 students were successfully shuttled to the temporary learning facility this morning, as shared by Daryl Vaz, Member of Parliament and Minister, in an update on his official social media account.

“Sections of the school building are presently unsuitable to host students, hence the reason for the alternative space for classes,” the Ministry of Education noted.
The decision to relocate students was made in the interest of safety and to avoid disruptions in their academic progress. Mobay Metro, a trusted transportation service in the Montego Bay area, was engaged to facilitate the return trips daily, allowing students to continue their education without added inconvenience.
Efforts are underway to repair the affected sections of Barracks Road Primary School, and officials are closely monitoring the situation to minimize the time students will need to remain at the alternate site.
