Ken Serious bats for communication with ‘Accordingly’

The saturation of social media has made it easier for people to communicate with colleagues and family in the most remote corners of the Earth. However, that has come with a price, says singjay Ken Serious.

On Accordingly, his song produced by Issachar Muzik, the veteran artiste addresses the importance of maintaining the human touch in the Internet age.

“It’s about mutual communication, mutual respect and empathy. I experience it from friends, family and loved ones. That’s how passionate I am about this song and I know lots of people experiencing the same thing, we all have to learn to communicate better because technology has made it more possible to do so,” said the Georgia-based entertainer.

Accordingly is Ken Serious’ latest effort for the Los Angeles-based Issachar Muzik. Last year, they collaborated on the song, Defend mi Blackness.

Ken Serious is in the midst of a busy promotional period. In addition to Accordingly, he recently released the video to Better World, title track from his debut album which came out last year.

He is also pitching More Than Money, another new track produced by the Vega Brothers.

Born in Manchester, Ken Serious started his career during the early 1980s as Kenterus on sound systems in neighbouring Clarendon. He first came to regional prominence on Stereomars, a sound system owned by Kenneth “Skeng Don” Black.

Black’s Skeng Don label also released Gone A Sea, his first song, which was produced by Steely and Clevie. During the 1980s and 1990s, Ken Serious (as Kenterus) recorded songs for producers including Sugar Minott, Tony Rebel, Richard Bell, Clement “Coxson” Dodd and Cocoa Tea.

It was while a member of Rebel’s Flames camp that he changed his stage name.
