Fully Bright Creates Waves In Jamaica

Kingston, Jamaica – Deejay Shaka Pow, also known as Dr. Garth McDonald, has created waves in Jamaica with his 18-month-old Fully Bright School tour. The initiative has garnered praise from teachers and endorsements from the Minister of Education, Fayval Williams. It is lauded as one of the best edutainment packages hosted in Jamaican schools, surpassing other tours in value and engagement.

The tour has visited 45 schools across Jamaica, including notable institutions like St. John’s Primary, Spanish Town High, St. Andrew Primary, Edward Seaga Primary, Kingston High, Oberlin High, St. Mary’s College, and York Town Primary. The Fully Bright tour was featured multiple times on TVJ’s Hill And Gully Ride, receiving positive feedback for bringing hope and positivity, especially in the wake of Hurricane Beryl.

The initiative began with the Fully Bright song, a response to the “Fully Dunce” trend, and included distributing Fully Bright bags to counteract the negative influence of dunce bags. The tour emphasizes the value of education and positive messages, featuring performances by artists like Black-er, Lawyer Denniese Walker, Profit Revelation, Kryme Rate, Nana EQ, SoSuh Bonez, Mr. G, and Scantana. These performances promote excellence, discipline, and anti-violence messages.

Students actively participate in the tour and are rewarded with certificates, buttons, and gift baskets. Deejay Shaka Pow also conducts motivational speeches, enhanced by performances of his Fully Bright songs with dancers Anna Thickaz and Wassdemm.

Looking ahead to September, Deejay Shaka Pow aims to further support the Garth McDonald Scholarship Fund, expand the school tours, and continue making schools a better environment for learning.
