3rd Annual Imagine Summit Promotes Digital Wellness and Professional Growth for BIPOC Creatives
Written by on November 21, 2024
Toronto, ON — Over 500 creatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals are set to converge for the 3rd Annual Imagine Summit on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Yorkdale Cineplex Theatre in Toronto. This transformative event, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, is dedicated to fostering mental wellness and professional development for individuals from BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ2IA+, and other equity-deserving communities.
Founded by Toronto-based pop-soul singer-songwriter and speaker Domanique Grant, the Imagine Summit is a unique gathering designed to address the challenges faced by digital creatives in an increasingly fast-paced and demanding online world.
Grant, whose career has seen her traverse continents and connect with audiences through empowering music, understands firsthand the toll that constant digital engagement can take. She aims to help creatives navigate social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram without compromising their mental health.
“We know the impact that social media can have on a mind—now think about how that affects the creative mind, which relies on public validation of their work,” Grant shared.
A Day of Inspiration and Wellness
The event’s schedule features an impressive lineup of industry leaders, artists, and wellness activities:
- A fireside chat with Amanda Dorenberg, Global CEO of ArtsHouse Media Group (AMG).
- An interview with Canadian singer-songwriter and JUNO Award winner Jully Black.
- A guided meditation and visualization session led by Grant herself, focusing on nervous system regulation.
- A Digital Wellness Panel, moderated by Jamar McNeil of CHUM 104.5, featuring Monique Miller (Unilever), Tyler Tasson (Amazon Music), and representatives from FACTOR Canada.
- Performances by RBCxMusic artist Ila Barker and Honey Jam artists Christina Smith, Marley Unknxn, and Sofinari.
The summit is free to attend and is supported by sponsors RBC, Flow Water, and Toronto Community Housing, with funding from FACTOR Canada and Ontario Creates.
Empowering Change Through Imagination Design
At its core, the Imagine Summit merges entertainment, neuroscience, and mindfulness, helping participants reprogram neurological pathways tied to fear, anxiety, and trauma. This innovative approach aims to enable creatives to achieve sustainable success in their careers while prioritizing their well-being.
