One of the notable successes highlighted by Dr. Drew was St. Kitts and Nevis’ achievement in eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV, a critical milestone in the nation’s public health efforts. He expressed gratitude to healthcare professionals, stakeholders, and international partners for their roles in making this achievement possible.
“St. Kitts and Nevis is among those nations that have achieved the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. To this end, I want to thank the healthcare workers, stakeholders, and our regional and international partners who have all worked to achieve this most notable result,” Dr. Drew said.
The event focused on how countries can recommit to ending AIDS by 2030, an ambitious goal that requires renewed multilateral action, innovation, and continued investment in healthcare systems globally. With his address, Dr. Drew positioned St. Kitts and Nevis as a leader in the Caribbean’s contribution to the global HIV/AIDS fight.
He concluded his remarks with a reminder of the core value behind these efforts: “#EveryLifeIsPrecious.”
As the world continues its battle against HIV/AIDS, St. Kitts and Nevis remains a committed partner in the push for a future free of the disease.
